Katahdin Woods & Water Monument

Pronounced deh gah-gah bee mook, Tekαkαpimək is a Penobscot word meaning "as far as one can see

The station was built in deep consultation with the Wabanaki Nations.

The 7,900-square-foot facility is almost entirely made of wood and is designed to operate completely off-grid via solar power.

It features an outdoor gathering circle, an eastern lookout facing the sunrise, and a west-facing deck with panoramic views of Mount Katahdin.
